Summer performance Series of photographs Through the analysis of the evolutionary process of superheroes, the artist created a community of Human Beings whose purpose is to transform every member, through a new awakening, into a super hero of everyday life. This small community has given birth to the “Desire Lab” in a classroom in the Naba campus in Milan. Within the lab each member will choose a dynamic or aspect of their own life that is considered negative, and then hyper-evolve it in a positive sense. The phrases, such as “I take care of myself”, “I can achieve my goals”, “I’m free and out of the box”, can initially be seen as an intent, and as a mantra that takes form and space in each person’s mind and body. With these statements, this community will move aound in a public setting; every t-shirt represents a personal and collective responsibility by those who wear it. The work is a statement of intent, that the “superformers” announce and wear, in order to become physically what they are declaring.
