ARCHEOLOGIA CONTEMPORNEA (Contemporary Archaeology)
2018
Installazione
The unpublished work is installed in a garden of a Paduan villa, which lends itself as an exhibition space: the installation marks the beginning of a sequence of grafts between furniture and natural elements that tell the story of mankind. Today’s society is invaded by the digital system that predisposes humankind more and more toward a future of nonexistent physicality, and because of this, the objects that surround human beings soon become archaeological monuments, which are also destined to disappear. The furniture used is constantly getting devalued with cheap timber and for this reason already yet again, when grafted back into nature, they appear like archaeological elements. The work is meant to be an attempt to revive trees sacrificed for a system that’s minimizing against nature itself.
